My local scrapbooking store, Memories Live On, recently added the s.w.a.l.k. (sealed with a little kiss) line of stamps to their inventory. I will be teaching a class on October 29th using a few of these stamps. Aren't they cute? The purse is made from one 12x12 sheet of paper. I recently ran across a super cute and easy tutorial for this coffee cup card and had to give it a try. You can attach a gift card where I put the image but I couldn't resist using my newly purchased MFT stamp and best of all I used the paper crimper I've had for many moons! The sentiment is made with MS Office Word.

Flowers and Banners From Corner Punches

I found my mojo over the weekend and used MS corner punches to make the flowers and banners for the following projects.
The tutorials are from Fiskars HERE and HERE.

It was not in the plan, but if you look closely, the MS corner punches I used matches the patterns on the papers. I guess it was meant to be : )

WOW! It's been a long time since my last post. The summer seems to be slipping by so quickly, I thought I would have more time to craft since the kiddos are out of school, but obviously not. We only have another 1.5 weeks left. I have not been stamping much (at all), but trying to finish up a crochet project that has been waaaay over due.

Here is a card I made a while ago using Nesties Blossom die, leaves and sentiment are from Hero Arts. I hope you are having a great summer.

Yesterday was the last day of school for my kids, I still can't get a grip on how fast the year went by. I'm hoping that the summer vacation will not whiz by either.

I made this card for my son's teacher using the sketch from The Deconstructed Sketch Challenge #4, it also qualifies for the All That Scraps Wednesday Challenge #79 - Anything Goes.

Pop-Up Poppies

Last week I made this card for the Hero Arts' Fabulous Flowers Challenge. The larger flowers were stamped three separate times, colored with Copics, cut up and then glued back together to give it a 3D effect. The best part was that I didn't have to color within the lines! I think this will be one of those cards that I can't give away : )

I've been EXTREMELY busy these last few weeks with kids school functions. Only two more weeks of school left, I'm not sure if I'm happy about it. I see the last day of school as my kids being another year older and that's just not right, seems like yesterday I was changing their diapers.

Anyhoo, that is the reason for lack of creating lately. I leave you with this Tilda card I made a while back but never posted.

I've been looking for some ideas on how to make Ghirardelli chocolate holders and found a few but this one caught my eyes. It's super easy and cute! You can find the instructions HERE. The toughest part was deciding which paper to use! : ) I spent the morning making these for a few friends.

Good Friday Friends!

Today is the last day of school before spring break for my kids, I'm looking forward to a week of no schedule to keep. Yippee! Hoping to have lots of time to craft.

I made this card using another newly purchased Hero Arts stamp, Butterfly Flowers. It's so fun to color! I used Copics B23, B32 and B000 then added Glossy Accent for a raised effect. The butterfly is colored with Broken China Distress Ink and Perfect Pearl Mists then doodled with a white pen.

Hello Friends!

I hope you are having nice weather where you live, it's been raining non stop here. What is a gal to do but hide in the craft room and create : ) Here is a project using Asha from YNS, she is sooo cute! I made these for a friend's daughters. The candy tubes were purchased at a scrapbook expo over the weekend and I couldn't wait to put them to use. The tags were made by using Nesties labels 8 and the images are colored with copics and letterings are from Sizzix alpha die cuts. I also used a white gel pen to add the dots to the saris.

When I saw this Erin stamp from YNS, I just fell in love and had to have to it. My daughter's BFF is an Irish step dancing competitor and this image is just perfect for her. I doodled on the her dress with a white pen and added stickles for more details. I'm playing along with one of my favorite stamp co.... YNS Challenge #38: Make it Sparkle.

Hi Friends! I'm still here, been quite busy the last few weeks but I've been crafting...I started crocheting again (too many crafts and not enough time) : ) I made my daughter a bunny and my nieces each a hat.

So I had a quiet morning to myself, it was quite relaxing and productive. I actually did two scrapbook pages! Here is one of my daughters (the one on the right) and her friend, funny how at 10 years old you actually WANT to wear the same thing. I found those cute felted butterflies at Michaels in the dollar bin!

I used the sewing machine to add the zigzags in between the DPs and the ribbon, since I begin leaving it out permanently I've used it on everything, it was just collecting dust in the closet for at least five years.

Good Monday Friends!

Over the weekend we were invited to a friend's house warming party. I needed a house image to make a card, after searching my LSS with no luck, I found this on Squigglefly. It was hard for me to color this house, I didn't know where the shading should go, this is what happens when I haven't yet found my mojo. : ) I dusted off some Flowersoft and used it on the bushes and flower planters, also drew in the sidewalk with a Multiliner pen.

Wow, it's been a long time since my last post, life got really busy in the last month with Christmas and all the bustling. I've seem to have lost some card making mojo, hope to find it again soon. I did do some shopping during the Hero Arts' catty debut and bought myself three new stamps and finally inked one up. Here is one of them, Leaf Clusters, I inked it with Versamark and embossed with white powder, then sponged it with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. The DP is from We R Memory Keepers.

Late Halloween Project

Hi Everyone!

Thanks so much for your kind comments about my quilt post! I've been quite busy since then, we've gone out of of state for my sister's wedding and back. I haven't made anything crafty for weeks now, feeling some withdrawls and need to get back to it. Until then, here is a Halloween treat holder I made for a friend. I saw the poem from Anna Wight's blog and had to use it. Isn't it the funniest?

Here's a Halloween photo of my kids, niece (ballerina) and me. The gypsy costume was the one I had to frantically sewed for Britney two days prior to Halloween! Ethan is an astronaut, Kylie is an USAirway flight attendant. : )

Sorry to have disappeared from blogland the last few weeks. I took on a new challenge about a month ago and decided to try to make my very first quilt after seeing a super cute pattern and tutorial on Cluck Cluck Sew! My goal is to finish by this weekend for my niece's birthday, so I've been slaving away and sometimes wanted to pull my hair out. : ) Who knew keeping a 1/4" seam was so hard! and free motion sewing...SUPER HARD! I still have much to learn and I will never complain again how expensive a quilt can cost. I still have to hand stitch the binding together but the hardest part is done. I had solicited some help from my daughters as well. : )

In between quilting breaks I did have to make a halloween costume for daughter #2! Will share a photo soon. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi Friends! Hope all is well with everyone in blogland. We are back to the daily grind again this week, kids are back to school which means Mom is back to school too, KWIM? Hard to believe that Halloween is just about three weeks away, the kiddos have not yet decided what they want to be. Hope they come up with something soon, and that it's not something I have to make. : )

This week's Tiddly Inks Challenge is to make anything Halloween, I chose this Franko-Boto image, he's just too cute and I need more practice making boyish cards. He is colored with Copics, the grass and shadow are Prisma color pencils. I'm happy to be using these pencils again : )

Tiddly Inks Challenge #24 - Artist Trading Card

Well, we went from 100 degrees last week to 61 today, crazy! My kids are on fall break this week, we are just going to spend the week at home relaxing, crafting and baking. All my favorites : )

This week's Tiddly Inks Challenge is to make an ATC (artist trading card), this was a first for me. I just adore this cute Versa Bug, I think I will use this as a bookmark. The card base is a piece of acetate, not sure if you can see it in the photo.

Tiddly Inks Challenge #23 - Use Crystal or Crackle Effect

Happy Tuesday Friends! Hope you are having nice weather where you live, it's scorching hot here in San Jose.

This week's Tiddly Inks Challenge is to use crystal or crackle effects on your project. This is my second attempt on this card, the first image didn't crackle, the "crystal" I used was pliable instead of breakable (maybe it has something to do with the fact that I've had that bottle for the last five years?). Although you can't see the glossiness on "Fairy Fae's" wings, it's there. = )

Wow! Has it been a week already? Time sure flies when you're having fun. I've been bitten by the sewing bug again. I'll share some projects soon, but for now it's time for Tiddly Ink's Challenge #22, this week we have a sketch for you to follow.

I used DONNA, one of the new images, isn't she just the cutest? I added some rain drops and a puddle of water under her feet with a Copic Multiliner. I went off of the sketch a bit and added the sentiment by Heidi Swapp.

TGIF Everyone!

It sure was a nice and short week we had. I found some time today to make a card for some challenges, been awhile since I've been able to play. This cute cat is from Tiddly Inks, you can find him HERE, as well as some new Christmas images just released HERE.

I learned some new coloring techniques this week from watching Chrissy's (Paper, Ink, Color!) video HERE, she is just so talented! Love it that all the talents out there are willing to share their secrets with us.

This background stamp is a sheet of 11 Flourish Stamps by PCS, but I decided not to cut them up and just leave it whole to use as a BG instead. I have no idea who makes that kitty cat DP. The sentiment is from Hero Arts. The kitty is colored with Copics and Prisma pencils.

Tiddly Inks Challenge - Birthday or Invitation

Hi Friends! I hope you had a nice long weekend. I sure did, even though part of it was spent doing "home improvement". We are adding in a french door in the dining room to have access to the backyard and it's almost finished. I can't wait!

This week's TI Challenge is to make a birthday card or invitation. Eventhough I have a ton of cards already pre-made, I still find myself making special birthday cards for a specific friend or family member, since each person likes a special color, activity or theme. How about you?

This image is called Big Wishes Lilly Bean. She is colored with Copics and the frosting is Liquid Applique that I let dry over night for a glossy finish. I added some seed beads for sprinkles.

I've been "sew" busy the last few days, pun intended here. = ) A few months ago I bought a ton of zippers for a bargain, I mean dirt cheap! The problem was I've never made anything with zippers before. The thought of it actually scares me! This week, I set out on a mission and made these little pouches. They are totally not perfect but I'm pretty proud of the results. The tutorials were found HERE and HERE.

It's hard to believe that it's the last day of August already! I'm hardly ready to say so long to summer but the weather is cooling down a bit here, jackets are need for walks to school in the morning.

Tiddly Inks Challenge - Back to School

My kids started school last week, not sure where the summer went. As a matter of fact not sure where all the times went, my eldest daughter, Kylie started middle school this year. Seems like yesterday she started kindergarten. Last week she came home with a stack of text books, they keep one set at home for homework, they no longer have lockers like I did, ions ago.

Hello All! Wow! It's been awhile since my last post, since then we've returned home and my kids started school today. Needless to say, the last few days have been totally crazy! I think my mojo is still on vacation, been forever since I last made a card. I finally sat down at 10:00p.m. and made this card for Tiddly Inks' Challenge #17- a card inspired by your favorite summer movie. Well, I'm not a huge fan of (any) movies, but I saw this cute Pearl image and immediately thought of Splash. Oops, did I just dated myself?!

Hello from sunny Arizona! We had an awesome time on the cruise, lots of eating! I'm here visiting my family this week, this card was made prior to leaving on vacation and it was for my good friend's son's 6th birthday.

Halloween is Hoppin' at Tiddly Inks

Hiya Everyone! Today is the day we've been anticipating ...it's Tiddly Inks' Halloween Hoppin' day! You can play along too for a chance at some fun prizes! Here's how:

Create a Halloween theme project using one of the Tiddly Ink's Halloween images and post on your blog, once your blog post is completed, visit the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog and link your post in the Inlinkz list at the bottom of the Halloween Blog Hop post in order to be qualified for the prizes. When I read about Michelle's (Donkey Smiles) terrible accident a few weeks ago, I couldn't get over how courageous she is despite of all that happened, you can read about it HERE. Although I don't know her, I was touched by how the stamping community has come together to encourage Michelle during this time. A Spoon of Sugar is having "Kickin' It for Michelle" Card Drive. This week's CAS-tastic Challenge is to use kraft paper, seems like I've been using alot of kraft paper on my CAS cards lately, four weeks in a row! That was purely unintentional but I sure like how it looks. Last week I went to a LSS's "garage sale" and found this Penny Black stamp for $1.50, and the Chinese Seals set by Hero Arts for $1.75. What a steal of a deal!

I stamped the main image with white ink and embossed it with white powder, easy peasy!

Tiddly Inks Challenge - Summer

Hi there everyone! Hope you all had a nice LONG weekend, I certainly did, there was lots of eating happening around here. : ) We also went to see the Karate Kid..it was soo cute!

It's time for me to post my first project as a Tiddly Inker! This week's challenge is to create a summer card using; swimsuits, water toys etc. I used this cutie Going Swimming Boy. He reminds me of my son a few years ago when he still needed floaties. This image is colored with Copics and I added some glossy accents to the floaties and goggles for some shine and dimension.

If you like to play along, there are 2 placement levels in our weekly challenges.

1) The Design team will choose a Top 3 from the entries to receive a "I was a Tiddly Inks Top 3!" badge.

I've had this Happy Bugg by Tiddly Inks colored for a while now, finally made her into a card or a friend's birthday today. I {heart} coloring, it is such good therapy and relaxing. Ever since I started using Copics 1.5 year ago, I {heart} coloring even more! = ) I've tried using other medium, but it's just not the same. I guess I'll just have to save up and collect more, I think I'm up to 132 copics now.

I used the sketch by Tuesday Morning Sketches #52 for this card. It also qualifies for the Incy Wincy Desings - Things with Wings Challenge.

Happy Saturday! We're getting ready to go to my nephew's 7th birthday party. I'm so glad that TGF has this adorable Oliver image available, as you know, I suffer from making boys/men cards. The base of this card is stamped with Hero Arts' dinosaur and Versamark ink then heat embossed with clear powder, ignore that blob on one of the dinos' head. The sentiment is a freebie from PCS.

I made my card using this cute Grill King image from Diane.

I kept it as simple as possible, the kraft paper matting is embossed with CB Argyle embossing folder. I colored the image with Copics. To make his fur look fuzzy, I used E55 to color the base, then damping a small portion of an old towel with rubbing alcohol and dab off the Copic ink. Voila! The sentiment is from Studio G.

Today is another fanstastic Challenge day for both of the design teams I'm on, ironically they both call for the USE OF BUTTONS! I can't get enough of them, and collect as many as I can. I actually made the white flower shaped ones below using polymer clay! I need to make some more of these.

I used this Big Tall Grass stamp along with the sentiment from the Elegant Greetings set. I made two versions of this card, one I used the "stamp off" technique which basically is stamping off the ink on a scrap then use the left over ink on the stamp for my final image. The other one is self explanatory. I think I like them both! = )

I recently purchased this MS punch on clearance at Mike's and just love it to pieces (I also got the matching corner punch!), I'm on a roll with ~~hoarding~~ collecting them all! This cute image is Fhiona's Pet Fish from YNS. It is colored with Copics and I added some glossy accents on the entire surface of the image. The gorgeous DP is from K & Co that Cabio sent me. (thank you!)

It is also CAS-tastic Challenge #4 today, this week's challenge is to use a bit of green on your card. I'm really enjoy making CAS (clean and simple) cards lately, it takes no time at all. I used another MS punch on this card and the stamps are from Hero Arts.

Hi Friends and Happy Friday!

When I saw Karen made this acetate card, I knew I had make one. Just love the delicate and clean look. This (late) card is for my niece who graduated from HS this week. I used Tiddly Inks Annie's Diploma and colored her with Copics. Last night I tried to color some other images with colored pencils and I tell ya, there's no way I'm going back after using Copics! = )

The acetate is stamped randomly with white Stazon ink.

CAS-tastic Challenge #3 - One Layer

Hi Friends!

Hope you are having a wonderful week. I'm patiently waiting for the weather to warm up here, we've had strangely cold and wet weather for mid May!

It's time for another fantastic CAS-tastic Challenge. This week's challenge is ONE LAYER, this is very hard for me to do, I love to add layers and layers of paper on my cards. The good thing was that this card only took me less than 15 minutes to make! I stamped the butterfly with Versamark and embossed it with pink embossing powder (can't tell you when was the last time I used it), colored them with Copics, add a bit of Stickles and a ribbon and voila!

This is my second post of the day, please scroll down for YNS Challenge #16.

It's time for another CAS-tastic Challenge. This week's theme is to use circles in your creation. Remember to keep it "clean and simple". It seems I have a harder time trying to keep it CAS as well, but sometimes less is more effective. I dusted off an old SU set for this card. I simply inked the stamp with white ink and embossed with white powder for the background. I received a gorgeous package of Prima Roses from Kelly when we finally met up last month. Thank you Kelly, this card is dedicated to you! They are so yummy that I'm using them sparingly = )

Well the rain is back again here in San Jose, hopefully all this April shower will bring beautiful May flowers (which I've planted plenty of).

I've had this adorable Sugarplums Apple Emma from ATS for awhile but have yet colored her until now. I've been wanting to participate in the ATS Wednesday Challenge for some time too, so this is a first for that as well. Emma is colored with Copics and I've added some liquid embossing on her shoes and the apple in her hand for some shine. (sorry you can't see that in the photo)

Happy Wednesday! Hope you are having nice weather where you are. My kids are on spring break this week and the weather has finally cooperated, it has rained since Sunday and felt like winter until today! I have bought some flowers to revamp my yard and is waiting for the sun to shine so I can get them planted.

We just got back from an Easter Egg Hunt at a local church. The kids had so much fun, now I will have to negotiate which and how many pieces of candies they get to keep. Yea, Mom is no fun, but they will thank me at the next dental visit. : )

I wanted to share this card I made for a friend a couple of weeks ago, I couldn't post it before because I wanted her to receive it in the mail first.

This cute image is from Hero Arts called Girl with Gift. I colored her with Copics, the "Friends" EK punch I found at Michaels down the kiddie section where they have the American Girl products.

YNS Challenge #13 - Purple

Good Morning and welcome to YNS Challenge #13, this challenge is hosted by our wonderful YNS Owner KAREN! She has challenged us to use purple on our creation. I had no problem with this, as it's one of my favorites. I actually went "frugal" with this card, I was at a home improvement store over the weekend and stopped by the paint department....colors galore!! and so many different combinations already laid out on swatches, so picked up a few samples. : ) heehee! All the purple you see on this card are from paint swatches, it even came with the squares already cut out!
I used Hoppy Easter Fhiona and see the fluffies on her costume? I bought some foam balls from the dollar store, rub them together to get a " flower soft" wanna-be! I have a whole baggie full for $1!!

Hello Friends!

When I first started stamping, the only stamps that I would buy are the floral ones. It seems I've neglected my passion for flowers during the last few months. I was in Michael's the other day and look at what jumped out at me?! A FLORAL stamp! Aacck! I fell in love with this gorgeous Hero Arts' stamp called Long Stem Flowers. I had to ink it up right away and colored it with my Copics and also paper pieced the petals, hard to see in the photo but the flower is raised up.

Good Friday My Friends!

As promised, I have a couple of sewing projects to share. My obsessiveness during the last few weeks benefited my friends and family. LOL

These are tea wallets, if you are a tea drinker you will need one of these to keep your tea bags in place instead of on the bottom of your purse. I found the tutorial HERE, but tweaked it a bit.

This scrunchie scarf was easy peasy to make and I made myself, my daughters and their teachers each one. You can find the instructions HERE. I tell ya, I {{heart}} Google! So much info for freeeeee!! Sorry about the headless picture, it was 9pm when I finished it and I was not ready for a photo shoot. : )

It's seems like it's been forever since I last posted a card. Apologies for being MIA, I've been seriously been bittened by the SEWING bug! I've made a few of the activity bags, some tea wallets and a few scrunchie scarves(will share soon).

Today is YNS's Challenge #12 hosted by Cabio. She challenged us to make a card with distressing technique, now this is really CHALLENGING for me. I used the Happy Birthday Mermaid set, colored the images with Copic markers and Spica pen, no mermaid can go without some sparkles!

This card is made using the Sketch Saturday Challenge #94.
